
Ruth is a seasoned global youth development and community engagement leader with over 15 years of experience advancing inclusive education, women’s leadership, and sustainable social impact across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Her work is defined by strategic leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and a deep commitment to empowering women, young people, and strengthening communities.
She currently serves as Director of the Elangwe-Preston Youth Center (EPYCL) in Limbe, Cameroon, where she provides executive oversight for youth empowerment initiatives focused on education, leadership development, and community participation. In this role, Ruth leads multidisciplinary teams, builds strong partnerships with community leaders and stakeholders, and ensures that programs ar mission, impact goals, and long-term sustainability.
Ruth’s professional experience includes service as a UNICEF Field Agent, where she supported orphans and vulnerable children through care coordination, advocacy, and community-based interventions. She has also held senior leadership roles as Vice President and Program Director at Girls Excel, Limbe, designing and implementing empowerment programs addressing gender-based violence and advancing outcomes for women and the girl child. She also worked as an Interpretive Naturalist with Dunes Learning Center, delivering environmental education through experiential and outdoor learning. Earlier in her career, she was an European Volunteer Service (EVS) exchange worker at Woodcraft Folk, London, UK.
