A Night to Remember: World Youth Clubs Connects Teens with Bruce Springsteen
World Youth Clubs recently made dreams come true for 15 teens and club leaders from the Salford Lads Club—a WYC Affiliate in Manchester, England—by facilitating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend Bruce Springsteen’s Land of Hope & Dreams concert.
This extraordinary experience was made possible by Susan Porcaro Goings, Chairman of World Youth Clubs, in collaboration with Patti Scialfa—Springsteen’s wife and Susan’s longtime friend.
An Unforgettable VIP Experience
Susan and her husband Rick, founders of World Youth Clubs, joined Bruce as he welcomed the group with open arms, providing them with an exclusive VIP experience that included backstage access, entry to the E Street Lounge, custom gift bags filled with t-shirts and hats, premium seats near the stage, and—most memorably—a private meet-and-greet with Bruce just before the show.
For many of the teens, it was their very first major concert, made all the more unforgettable by Springsteen’s heartfelt engagement. “Bruce is a wonderful person who truly cares about humanity, especially youth—not only in the U.S., but around the world,” Susan shared. “He took the time to meet each of them, shaking hands and listening to their stories. It was a moment that surely created lifelong memories.”
The Power of Global Partnerships
This magical evening was the result of a powerful collaboration between World Youth Clubs and the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs in the UK. It’s a shining example of how partnerships can open doors and create transformative experiences for young people.
World Youth Clubs remains committed to using music and the arts as vehicles to empower and inspire youth across the globe.
