From barely being able to see over the lobby registration counter while waiting for his older siblings, to becoming WYC’s 2025 Youth of the Year, Samuel Adeleye’s relationship with Metro Detroit Youth Clubs began long before he officially joined at eight years old. Since then, he has grown from a youth member at the Club into a junior employee, supporting younger members through mentorship and serving as a positive role model.

Throughout his time at the Club, Samuel has taken part in every leadership opportunity available to him. At just 13, he joined MDYC’s Tomorrow’s Promise workforce development program, later transitioning into roles tutoring younger members and helping manage youth activities.

Samuel’s journey into a confident leader and 2025 Youth of the Year shows what is possible when young people are given consistent support and opportunity through youth development programs. Through his dedication, humility, and enthusiasm, he continues to inspire his Club and community.
